Privacy Policy
We built Treazured to help you give better gifts — not to mine your data. Here's a plain-English explanation of what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
Treazured is an iOS application ("we", "us", or "our"). Questions about this policy can be directed to [email protected].
2. What we collect
Account information
- Your email address, or your Apple ID token if you use Sign in with Apple
- A display name, set automatically from your email or Apple account
Recipient profiles
This is the core of what makes Treazured work. When you add someone to the app, you provide:
- Their name, relationship to you, and approximate age or date of birth
- Interests, personality notes, and any other details you choose to enter
- Upcoming occasions (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries)
- A default budget range
You control what you enter. Nothing is required beyond a name.
Saved gifts and reactions
- Gift suggestions you save for later
- Reactions you give to suggestions (e.g. "more like this", "too pricey") — used only to refine results in that session
Usage analytics
We collect anonymised events (e.g. "suggestion generated", "gift saved") to understand how the app is used and where to improve it. These events are not linked to identifiable personal information.
3. How we use your data
- To generate gift suggestions tailored to the recipient profiles you create
- To save and surface gifts you've bookmarked
- To keep your account and data in sync across sessions
- To understand how the app is being used and improve it over time
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models.
4. AI and how suggestions are generated
When you request gift suggestions, we send a limited subset of the relevant recipient profile — interests, occasion, and budget range — to our AI backend. Your name, email address, and any other account details are never included in this request.
5. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services to run Treazured:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication
- PostHog — anonymised product analytics
When you tap a "Buy" link in the app, you'll be taken to a third-party retailer website in Safari. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you do, your profile, all recipient data, saved gifts, and occasion information will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained beyond this period.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To request this, email us at [email protected] or use the account deletion option in the app settings.
8. Children's privacy
Treazured is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
As Treazured moves out of beta, this policy will be updated to reflect new features. We'll notify you of any material changes via the app before they take effect.
